Ol-Anders Hälsingegård
Ol-Anders Hälsingegård, a charming open-air museum in Alfta, is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers fascinating insights into the way of life in times gone by. Particularly worth seeing is the Emigration Museum, which tells the moving story of those who left Hälsingland for America during the great wave of emigration in the 19th century. The museum also houses an exhibition about ÖSA, the former machine factory for timber harvesting and forestry machinery in Alfta.

The Falun copper mine is an impressive testimony to the history of mining. For centuries and until a few decades ago, it was mainly copper that was mined here. The visitor gallery is impressive and can be visited on guided tours. There is an open-air museum on the old mine site with small shops, restaurants and a number of activities.

The Finnskogsmuseet in the neighbouring village of Skräddrabo, just 10 minutes from Skålsjögården, provides detailed information about the history of the Finn Forest and Skålsjögården. The owner and initiator, Mats, is a son of the founder of Skålsjögården.
The visit is also exciting for children, as there is a bear cave to discover!

The Silver Ring is a cultural tour of southern Dalarna that takes you through the Silvberg and Säter mining areas, linking interesting mining environments. Explore the history of iron and silver from the mine to the smelter and forge.
Along the way you can enjoy beautiful resting places at several lakes, so bring a picnic basket. Information boards at the destinations give you insight into the history of the place, and all information is available in both English and German.
Highlights along the route include:
- Östra Silvberg: Here you will find one of Sweden's oldest mines and Ödekyrkogården, where the medieval St Nikolai Chapel once stood.
- Jönshyttan: This site was where the silver ore from the Östra Silvberg mines was smelted.
- Grängshammar: One of Dalarna's most picturesque mill environments, known for Olof Forsgren's stylish buildings. Also nearby is Silvberg's octagonal church.
- Ulfshyttan: A smelter was built here in the 17th century, and production of pig iron continued continuously until May 1939.
- Bispberg mine: This mine dates back to the Middle Ages and is characterised by the magnificent Vasa river from 1889, making it one of Sweden's best preserved iron mining environments.

Trönö Old Church, located in Trönö, northwest of Söderhamn in Hälsingland, is owned by the Swedish National Property Board and belongs to the Norrala-Trönö parish in the Diocese of Uppsala. This medieval church, dating back to the 13th century and with architectural features from the 16th century, is the best preserved example in Norrland. Unlike many other medieval churches, Trönö Old Church has remained relatively unaffected by modern changes.

The Lugnet Ski Jumps in Falun are not just a symbol of ski jumping, but also a place of excitement and breathtaking views. Built for the Ski World Championships in 1974 and last renovated for the World Championships in 1993, they offer an imposing backdrop for competitions with a record jump distance of 135.5 meters.
In 2027, the World Championships return to Falun, and the anticipation is palpable. But it's not just the competitions that promise excitement—the Lugnet Ski Jumps also offer spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding landscape that will make visitors' hearts race. It's a place that's equally captivating for ski jumping enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
A visit in the Skidmuseum is also a must (limited opening hours).

Ödmårdens stavkyrka
Ödmården's stave church is an impressive creation by Anders Woxberg located outside of Ockelbo, inspired by Norwegian stave churches and the Hemse stave church on Gotland. Construction began in 2010, making it Sweden's seventh stave church. During construction, north-flowing water was discovered, leading to the creation of a 5-meter-deep crypt beneath the church for ceremonial use. The stave church is managed by the Ödmården Stave Church/Culture Oklagård Association.
